HalalMap Customer Terms

These Customer Terms govern access to and use of HalalMap's customer websites, mobile applications, marketplace, directory, ordering, pickup, delivery, mosque, prayer-information, support, and related services in Canada. They apply in addition to the Privacy Policy and Refund and Cancellation Policy shown with them. Mandatory rights under applicable law continue to apply.

1. Who may use HalalMap

You must be at least the age of majority where you live and able to enter a binding agreement to create an account or place an order. You must provide accurate, current contact, delivery, and payment information and use HalalMap only for lawful personal purposes. If you act for another person, you confirm that you have authority to do so.

2. Accounts and authentication

Customer access may use email or phone one-time verification code authentication and supported third-party sign-in methods. Keep your email account, phone, device, verification codes, and active sessions secure. Do not share a code or allow another person to use your account. You are responsible for activity performed through your account until you notify HalalMap of suspected unauthorized access. Account identity may be shared across HalalMap applications, but workspace permissions are separate. Customer access does not grant Merchant, Driver, or Admin authority, and access to another workspace does not replace required Customer verification.

You may not create accounts to evade restrictions, misuse promotions, impersonate another person, or conduct fraud. HalalMap may require renewed verification, restrict a session, or suspend an account when reasonably necessary for security, safety, legal compliance, or investigation.

3. HalalMap's marketplace and directory role

HalalMap provides technology for discovering businesses, viewing listings, placing orders, coordinating pickup or delivery, processing payments, and receiving support. Restaurants, cafés, bakeries, grocery markets, butchers, and other businesses on HalalMap are independent Merchants. Unless a listing clearly says otherwise, the Merchant—not HalalMap—is the seller and is responsible for its products, menus, prices, ingredients, allergens, preparation, availability, quality, and legal compliance.

Some businesses are directory-only. A directory-only listing may provide discovery and contact information but does not mean that ordering, payment, pickup, or delivery is available through HalalMap. Listing information can be supplied by the business, public sources, or other permitted sources and may change.

4. Halal information and verification

Merchants are responsible for the accuracy of halal claims, sourcing statements, certificates, preparation practices, and product descriptions they provide. HalalMap may display a Halal Verified status, certificate information, an authority name, or other verification details when the applicable platform record supports that display. Review the status and supporting information shown for the particular business or item.

Presence in the directory, a business category, a search result, or availability for ordering does not by itself mean that HalalMap has independently certified every product, supplier, kitchen practice, or statement. Verification can expire, be suspended, or change. Contact the Merchant if a religious or dietary requirement is material to your decision, and report suspected inaccurate information to support@halalmap.ca.

5. Listings, prices, taxes, fees, and availability

Merchants control their catalogues, inventory, hours, service areas, preparation capacity, and acceptance of orders. Items and prices may differ from in-store offerings and can change before checkout. Your checkout review shows the current subtotal and applicable taxes, service fees, delivery fees, small-order fees, tips, discounts, credits, and other disclosed charges.

Products sold by weight or variable quantity may use an estimate before fulfilment. If HalalMap supports final-weight adjustment for the item, the checkout flow will describe the allowed adjustment. Substitutions are made only where the product flow supports them and according to the preference recorded with the cart. The Merchant may reject an order or remove an unavailable item.

6. Orders and confirmation

Submitting an order is a request to purchase the displayed items from the Merchant. An order is not accepted merely because payment information was submitted. The Merchant or platform workflow must accept or confirm it. Statuses, receipts, and notifications in HalalMap are the authoritative operational record, subject to correction of an obvious technical error.

Review the Merchant, items, quantities, customizations, substitution choices, address, pickup location, requested timing, fees, and total before confirming. Order notes are sent only to the parties who need them for fulfilment or support. Do not put passwords, payment-card numbers, health records, or unrelated personal information in an order note.

7. Payment authorization

By confirming an order, you authorize HalalMap and its payment provider, including Stripe where configured, to authorize and charge the selected payment method for the amount shown and for a disclosed supported adjustment. HalalMap stores payment identifiers and transaction metadata needed to operate the order; the payment provider handles full card credentials. Charges are in Canadian dollars unless checkout clearly states otherwise.

A failed, expired, reversed, or incomplete payment may prevent acceptance or cause cancellation. A temporary authorization can appear before final settlement and may be released by the payment provider or financial institution. Tips are voluntary and are included only when you select or confirm them.

8. Pickup and delivery

For pickup, arrive at the confirmed Merchant location during the communicated window and provide the order identification reasonably requested. For delivery, provide a complete and accurate address, unit or access information, safe delivery instructions, and a reachable contact method. You are responsible for correcting an address before the workflow no longer permits a change.

Delivery and preparation times are estimates. Traffic, weather, Merchant delay, demand, access restrictions, map data, and Driver availability may affect them. Drivers are independent delivery participants using HalalMap's dispatch tools. A Driver may contact you through supported channels and may record delivery status, time, location, photo, signature, or PIN evidence where the product flow requires it.

Be available at the delivery location. If the address is inaccurate, access is unsafe or impossible, or reasonable contact attempts fail, the delivery may be delayed, returned, left in accordance with your instructions, or treated as failed. Refund eligibility then depends on responsibility for the failure, the order record, evidence, and applicable law.

9. Cancellations and refunds

Self-service cancellation eligibility is determined from the current order, payment, and delivery state shown in HalalMap. A cancellation request is not complete until the API confirms it. Once preparation or delivery has progressed, cancellation may be limited or unavailable. Merchant rejection, unavailable items, duplicate charges, missing or wrong items, quality issues, and undelivered orders are handled under the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

Approved refunds may be full or partial and may be returned through the supported original-payment route or as HalalMap wallet credit according to the recorded payment facts and the authorized refund decision. Provider and financial-institution processing times are outside HalalMap's direct control. Nothing in these Terms removes a refund, cancellation, or other remedy that applicable law does not permit the parties to waive.

10. Customer conduct

Do not use HalalMap to break the law; threaten, harass, discriminate against, or harm another person; submit fraudulent orders or claims; abuse chargebacks, promotions, credits, refunds, or verification; interfere with fulfilment; scrape or copy the service without permission; probe security controls; distribute malicious code; or access another person's account, location, order, or private information.

Use support and payment disputes honestly. A chargeback does not replace the need to provide truthful information, and abusive or duplicative recovery attempts may lead to investigation or account restriction. Good-faith exercise of a legal consumer right is not prohibited.

11. Location, maps, notifications, and third-party services

Nearby results, routes, distances, geocoding, estimated arrival times, and live delivery tracking depend on device signals, addresses, third-party map services, connectivity, and changing road conditions. They may be delayed or inaccurate and must not be used as emergency or safety-navigation instructions. Push, email, and SMS delivery also depends on third-party networks and your device settings.

HalalMap may link to or interoperate with services operated by payment, map, identity, cloud, messaging, or other providers. Their own terms may apply to your direct use of those services. HalalMap is not responsible for a third-party service outside the parts it controls, subject to rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Mosques and prayer information

HalalMap may show mosques, events, calculated prayer times, mosque-provided official schedules, and iqamah times. Calculated prayer times are informational estimates affected by location, timezone, date, calculation method, and madhab settings. HalalMap is not a religious authority.

Where a schedule is identified as mosque-provided or official, the mosque or identified source is responsible for that schedule and may change it. Confirm time-sensitive worship information with the mosque, especially during Ramadan, holidays, travel, daylight-saving changes, or unusual local conditions.

13. Content and intellectual property

HalalMap and its licensors own the Platform software, design, trademarks, and platform-created materials. These Terms give you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable right to use the customer service as intended. They do not transfer ownership or permit resale, copying, reverse engineering, or commercial exploitation except where law expressly permits it.

You retain ownership of content you submit. You give HalalMap a non-exclusive licence to store, process, reproduce, and display that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, improve, moderate, and support the service. You confirm that you have the right to submit it and that it is accurate and lawful.

14. Service changes, suspension, and termination

Features, service areas, Merchants, delivery capacity, and promotions may change. HalalMap may suspend or terminate access for a material breach, fraud, security or safety risk, legal requirement, non-payment, or misuse. Where practical, HalalMap will provide notice and an opportunity to contact support. Terms concerning payments, accepted orders, intellectual property, liability, disputes, and records survive as necessary.

You may stop using HalalMap and request account deletion through supported account or privacy channels. Some order, payment, fraud, acceptance, dispute, and audit records may be retained when reasonably required for an active matter or legal obligation.

15. Service standard and liability

HalalMap will operate the parts of the Platform it controls with reasonable care. Merchant goods and conduct, Driver conduct, third-party networks, and external information remain subject to the responsibilities described above. The Platform is provided on an as-available basis, and uninterrupted or error-free availability is not guaranteed.

To the extent permitted by law, HalalMap is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable from the circumstances. Any limitation applies only to the extent lawful and does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights or liability arising from HalalMap's own fraud, wilful misconduct, or gross negligence where such exclusion is prohibited.

If your unlawful use, fraudulent submission, or infringement causes a third-party claim against HalalMap, you will be responsible for the resulting reasonable losses and costs to the extent permitted by law and proportionate to your conduct. This does not apply to a claim caused by HalalMap's own breach.

16. Changes and governing law

HalalMap may update these Terms when the service, law, or operating practices change. The current version and effective date are displayed with the document. A material new version will require notice or renewed acceptance where the platform's acceptance rules or applicable law require it. Past acceptance remains attached to the exact historical version and content hash.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without removing mandatory rights available under the law of another province or territory. Disputes may be brought before courts or tribunals with jurisdiction. Nothing here requires a consumer to give up a right to bring a matter before an applicable regulator or court.
